To: CVS pharmacy cashier
From: Frances (NY)
Four years ago I was deeply depressed. I caved in and got my first antidepressant prescription. I dragged myself to the pharmacy, and learned at the counter that my copay would cost more than I had in my bank account. In that moment, I felt embarrassed and helpless and thought, "so help isn't for me, just like I was afraid of." I turned away to leave the prescription behind. But you called out to me, scanned something, and pressed the prescription into my hand at no cost. I would not have survived without your kindness.
